The space
From 1967 to 2017, bridge house ‘Kortjewantsbrug’ accommodated the city’s many bridge keepers. In 2017, the bridge house started a new chapter as one of SWEETS hotel’s 28 independent hotel rooms. As with every SWEET, the interior of bridge house Kortjewantsbrug is inspired by its architectural history.

Many Amsterdam icons can be seen from the panoramic bedroom: the Schreierstoren (built in 1487) reminds us of the old defensive wall that used to stand here, the Maritime Museum with its VOC ship ‘De Amsterdam’ takes us back to the Dutch Golden Age, and the modern science museum NEMO shows us the history of knowledge.
