Special&Spacious urban family house

Our special&spacious house with garden is situated in Rotterdam-West. We transformed the former 3 apartments into one spacious and modern house with special features like an industrial staircase, a monochrome blue bathroom and a ‘floating' kitchen.

The space
Our special and spacious house with garden is situated in the vibrant neighborhood of Rotterdam-West. The house is originally from the 1930’s but we recently completely renovated it ourselves. We transformed these former 3 apartments into one spacious (200 square meters) and modern family house with special features like an open industrial staircase, a monochrome blue epoxy bathroom and a ‘floating’ kitchen.
The house has four floors, a private garden and a communal garden. It consist out of a cozy kitchen (with oven, dishwasher and espresso-machine) and dining room with a table which suites 8 people, a separate toilet, a spacious living room, a master bedroom with a double bed and balcony, two children

Our house is part of a very special renovation project. Together with our 25 neighbors we got the houses for free from the local government and renovated them to everyones own wishes. There are a lot of creative people in our block; artists, designers and architects. The inner area of the block is a huge communal garden, making the place a green and quit oasis within the busy city.
The house is situated in the nice, vibrant neighborhood of Rotterdam-West. There are lots of shops, restaurants and coffee places in the direct area. It’s a 5-minute walk from the Van Nelle Fabriek (Unesco world heritage), which offers several events and art fairs during the year. For children there are playgrounds, a petting zoo, a park, the Blijdorp zoo and a very nice and unique ‘wild nature playground’ nearby. The stadium of the Sparta football club leis within the neighborhood; you can hear them cheer on Sunday afternoon.
