The Jordaan is popular for its trendy shops and cosy bars and restaurants and the famous Noordermarkt, which is a farmers-market and a flea-market on Saturday and on Monday. Originally a working-class neighborhood, the Jordaan has become one of the most expensive, upscale locations in the Netherlands. It is home to many galleries. Rembrandt spent his last years in the Jordaan. He was buried in the Westerkerk church behind the B&B.
