The house has been comfortably decorated with furnishings I inherited, fixed up and took from placed I lived in such as San Francisco, Paris and London. A real international mix. I truly believe the 'Indische Buurt' is the most fun neighborhood of Amsterdam, with the Javastraat at the heart of it. The area is a lot quieter than central and you rarely run into people you met on your plane to Amsterdam. 'Amsterdam Oost' (the area around the Indische Buurt), as locals call it, is famous for being a bit more creative and trendy in comparison to the west and south. The area offers loads of fun restaurants and cute shops selling local products. Sights like the 'Dappermarkt', 'Oosterpark', 'Tropenmuseum' and 'Brouwerij 't IJ' are must-sees of the area.
