Neighbourhood
In the historic area of The Hague there are several royal palaces, both Houses of Parliament and the Knights Hall at the Binnenhof, the 'Hofvijver' and famous museums including The Mauritshuis and Escher Museum. Also in the direct neighbourhood: many good restaurants and bars, (film)theaters and shops. The Hague's Chinatown is around the corner, in the Wagenstraat. The entrances of the neighbourhood are marked with two huge Chinese gates with sculptured dragons.
The area used to be the Jewish quarter of The Hague. After a revamp by the municipality since the 1970s it became a very popular urban area.
