The space
The house was built over a century ago and is located on a dike. We added a two story addition to the house. The studio is in the basement with an additional entrance at the back of the house. There are two tilting windows with mosquitoscreens. There is a sink with a microwave , an electric kettle and coffeemaker and a fridge. There is a small bathroom with shower and toilet.You have WiFi and and a TV with an Apple box.

The dike on which the house is situated is a popular route for joggers and people who like (long distance) walks. There are only four families living here at the moment , but the city has big plans for building many highrise appartments on the island in the coming years. The big Locks (Oranje Sluizen) are nextdoor and definitely worth a visit. Across the Schellingwoude Bridge you can find a Farmers Market for all your groceries. They also serve lunches and dinners there. There is also a small supermarket close to the tramstop open from 8 am till 9 pm and a place that serves fresh coffee and a small pizza shop who also deliver to the house. Across from the supermarket is the biggest skatepark of Amsterdam. Fun to watch the breathtaking moves and jumps the youngsters make on their skateboards.
If you travel through Amsterdam CS you can also shop some supplies at one of the shop-and-go stores in the station . In a 2 km radius there are several shopping areas, easily reached by car ,
