In a pittoresk calm street in Amsterdam North we (me, husband + toddler) own a pretty cozy house with a green front & back garden. No city noises & exhaust fumes but singing birds & the smell of flowers. The city center is within 20 mins reach by bike & free ferry. Free parking! Ideal stay for a couple or young family. The location of Tuindorp Oostzaan in Amsterdam North, 20 minute from the city centre, reachable by a lovely free ferry ride and even closer to the beautiful countryside, together with the ambiance in and around our house, make this spot quite unique. Our neighbourhood (and especially our sunny street) have an exceptional village feel to them. This village connects the city centre to the North and adds to the typical North-Holland ambiance with nearby canals and the historical NDSM warf within walking distance. There you will also find the IJ Hallen, Europe's largest flee market. Nature reserves Twiske and Ilperveld, as well as Waterland and world-famous Zaanse Schans, are just around the corner. On the other hand, you can reach the center of Amsterdam in under 20 minutes, either by bus or on your rental bicycle (riding the free ferry over the IJ just adds to the joy of living in North and we highly recommend this so that you will experience life as a true local! )
