The neighborhood is very peaceful, safe and family-friendly. It has a bit of a village vibe inside a bigger city. The direct neighborhood is considered upscale, with lots of families with children living in the area.

There is a playground directly around the corner, with a picnic area and the possibility to swim in the dock during summer.

There is also a traditional Dutch snackbar (Febo), and a bike rental (Halfords) just around the corner and an outisde neighborhood (farmers') market every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, called 'Pekmarkt'.

The market, and closest supermarket, grocery shops and stores are located at Mosveld, a 10-15 minute walk or a 3-4 minute bike ride.
The opening hours from the supermarket (Albert Heijn) are 7-22 and 8-22 during the weekend, also on Sunday!

It is very easy to get to the house from the Central Station.

Once you cross the IJ canal, it is 10-15 minute walk or 4 minute bike ride to the location
