The Indische Buurt is a vibrant, multicultural area in Amsterdam East, known for its trendy Javastraat with eclectic shops and restaurants. You’re a 25-minute walk or 10-minute bike ride from Central Station, and nearby attractions include Artis Zoo, the Tropenmuseum, Brouwerij 't IJ, and the green spaces of Oosterpark and Flevopark (with an outdoor swimming pool). This is a practical, less touristy base for visitors who want local culture and easy access to the city center.
