Apartment near centre with amazing view over city

This cozy third-floor apartment in Amsterdam Zuid is perfect for a family of four or a small group of friends seeking a local, residential base with a spectacular view. The standout feature is the private roof terrace, offering a panoramic vista over the city skyline—ideal for evening drinks after a day of exploring. Inside, the lived-in feel provides a comfortable home base, with a main bedroom connected to a bathroom and a second bedroom set up with a large air mattress for kids. The open-plan living room and fully equipped kitchen make it easy to prepare meals, and the high chair and baby bath are thoughtful touches for families with young children. While the apartment lacks a dedicated workspace, the long dining table can double as a laptop-friendly spot. Note that the washer is paid and in-unit, and the terrace stairs may not suit very young toddlers. The 4.3 guest rating from 88 reviews reflects a solid, well-liked stay, though some may find the air mattress less ideal for adults. At around €175 per night, it offers good value for a central-yet-quiet location with a view that rivals pricier hotels.

Zuid is a safe, residential area that feels a world away from the tourist crowds, yet is just a short walk or bike ride through the leafy Vondelpark to the city centre. You are steps from local supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, and boutiques, giving you an authentic Amsterdam experience. The Amsterdamse Bos forest is a 10-minute bike ride away for a nature escape. This is a prime spot for travellers who want to live like a local while still being close to major museums (Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum) and the action of the canal ring.
