Great position to explore an alternative part of Amsterdam. The Tropenmuseum, Hortus Botanicus gardens, Artis zoo are all one short tram ride away. If you would like to hire a bike then go to BVD Tweewielers Oost BV (400m from our apartment). There are 3 wonderful parks to visit -with great playgrounds. The closest is Frankendael park (5 minute walk). There are 3 good supermarkets close by ranging from budget to gourmet (Vomar is the closest). Famous fish shop -Volendammer Vishandel and butcher -Scharrelslagerij Cees de Bouter.
