Bezuidenhout is an affluent, elegant and high-end district located right next to the center of The Hague. This district owes its name to the fact that it is placed south of the forest of the city.

Until the 1950s, the district formed the northern boundary of the built-up area of The Hague. Art Deco is the predominant architectural style. Its elegant buildings have a height limitation of ten meters, which makes the skyline of the city visible from any point. The street names in the Bezuidenhout mainly refer to governors-general and important historical characters in The Netherlands.
