Vincent Van Goghhuis

About this museum

Step into the formative years of one of the world's most celebrated artists at the Vincent Van Goghhuis in Zundert, the very place where Vincent van Gogh was born and spent his early childhood. This unique museum offers an insightful journey into his origins, with the permanent exhibition, "The roots of a master," guiding visitors through an audio tour that explores his relationship with his brother Theo and his parents' early concerns for his future.

Currently, the museum is hosting two compelling temporary exhibitions. From June 6 to October 4, 2026, immerse yourself in "DUET – Netherlands + Japan," an exhibition celebrating the cultural exchange between the two nations and featuring works by Dutch and Japanese artists inspired by Van Gogh's legacy. Additionally, "NEW," which opened on March 21, 2026, showcases recent acquisitions to the museum's collection alongside pieces by artists who have participated in the Van GoghHuis's guest studio programs.

Planning your visit is straightforward. The Vincent Van Goghhuis welcomes guests from Wednesday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Please note the museum is closed on New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, King's Day, and Christmas Day. Admission is €10, with free entry for children aged 0-12, ICOM members, and holders of a Friend and Museum Pass. The museum is fully wheelchair-friendly, with elevator access to all exhibition areas.

Reaching the museum is convenient whether by car or public transport. If driving, take the A16 highway, exit at Zundert/Meer (in Belgium), and follow signs for a 15-minute drive to the town center. Parking is available behind Molenstraat 1 or on Nassauplein. For those using public transport, take a train to Breda station, then connect to bus line 115 directly to Zundert.
