Museum Paul Tetar Van Elven
About this museum
Step into the meticulously preserved 19th-century world of artist and collector Paul Tetar van Elven at his former canal house on Delft's historic Koornmarkt. This unique museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the life and artistic environment of a prominent figure from a bygone era, showcasing his own works alongside his extensive collections of antiques, Asian porcelain, and Delftware. The interior itself is considered one of the Netherlands' best-preserved 19th-century examples, allowing visitors to experience the lifestyle of the bourgeoisie of that time.
Currently, immerse yourself in the "VOS & HAANEN - Artistic sisterhood from Oosterbeek" exhibition, running from March 10th to August 30th, 2026. This special presentation highlights the works of Adriana Haanen and Maria Vos, contemporaries of Paul Tetar van Elven who achieved recognition for their still lifes. For younger visitors, the museum offers engaging "In Tetar's attic" creative workshops during school holidays, providing an interactive way to explore art for just €5.00.
Planning your visit is straightforward, with the museum open Tuesday through Sunday from 1 PM to 5 PM.
