About this museum
Embark on a captivating journey through the art and history of Gouda at Museum Gouda. This cultural gem showcases a compelling permanent collection that brings the city's past to life, complemented by dynamic temporary exhibitions. In 2026, don't miss "Kersvers keramiek," on display until October 25, featuring outstanding graduation pieces from the Dutch Ceramics Academy. Additionally, explore "Geloof," running until August 30, which presents 44 thought-provoking artworks from the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, curated by notable figures Arnon Grunberg, Naema Tahir, and Stephan Sanders.
Planning your visit is straightforward, with the museum open Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM; it remains closed on Mondays, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day, but welcomes visitors on Easter, Pentecost, and Boxing Day. Standard adult admission is €16.00, while students and CJP Pass holders can enter for €8.00. Children up to 17 years old enjoy free entry, and various pass holders, including Museumkaart, also receive complimentary access. For groups of 10 or more adults, a discounted rate of €11.50 per person is available, with advance online registration appreciated for all tickets.
Reaching Museum Gouda is convenient, whether you prefer to walk, use public transport, or drive. The museum is located in Gouda's historic heart, just a scenic 12-minute walk from Gouda Central Station. Several bus lines, including 175, 190, 196, and 307, stop near the "Gouda, Centrum" bus stop, which is only a 6-minute walk away. If arriving by car, street parking in the city center is limited; we recommend the Q-Park Bolwerk parking garage at Sint Mariewal 3. Disabled parking is conveniently available on the Noodgodsbrug, close to the museum.
