Museum Beelden aan Zee
About this museum
Discover Museum Beelden aan Zee, Den Haag's premier destination for modern and contemporary sculpture, which has just unveiled a spectacular transformation. Following extensive renovations and "greening" efforts, officially reopened by Queen Máxima on June 26, 2026, the museum welcomed visitors back on June 27, 2026, with enhanced facilities and a refreshed aesthetic. Explore a renewed entrance area, a brand-new museum café perfect for a coffee break, and a new museum shop to find unique souvenirs.
The museum's sculpture terraces have been reimagined as "Het SculptuurDuin," integrating art seamlessly with indigenous dune vegetation for a unique outdoor exhibition experience. Inside, delve into diverse exhibitions, including the compelling "Rui Chafes X Alberto Giacometti: Gris, Vide, Cris III" which opened with the museum's relaunch. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00, with extended summer hours (July 6 - August 31, 2026) including Mondays from 13:00 to 17:00.
Planning your visit is straightforward. Adult tickets are €22.00, while children aged 13-18 and students under 27 can enter for €9.25. Children up to 12 years old enjoy free admission. Museumkaart holders pay a €3.50 surcharge for the special "Rui Chafes X Alberto Giacometti" exhibition, while holders of FriendsLoterij VIP-kaart, Rembrandtkaart, ICOM, and Ooievaarspas receive free entry. One accompanying person for a wheelchair user also enjoys complimentary admission.
