Discover Japanmuseum SieboldHuis, nestled along Leiden's picturesque Rapenburg canal, a cultural gem dedicated to Japan. Plan your 2026 visit to experience captivating special exhibitions. From April 3 to September 6, immerse yourself in "Tokyo Tokyo," a compelling photographic journey by Richard Koek. Starting September 19, 2025, and running through August 30, 2026, the Panorama Room will feature a fresh display of exquisite 18th and 19th-century netsuke miniature carvings. Winter 2026 brings a solo exhibition dedicated to Kawase Hasui, a master of 20th-century landscape prints, complemented by the "Shaping the Image of Japan" symposium on February 6 and 7. Japanmuseum SieboldHuis welcomes visitors Tuesday through Sunday, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Please note the museum is closed on Mondays, January 1st, King's Day (April 27th), Easter, October 3rd, and December 25th and 26th. Admission for adults is €12.00, with students (18 and over) and CJP card holders paying €7.50, and children up to 17 enjoying free entry. Holders of a Dutch Museum Card, Rembrandt Card, Leiden University students, and several other passes also receive free admission.

The museum is conveniently located for exploration. It's approximately a 15-minute walk from Leiden Central Station, or you can take a bus to the Breestraat or Kort Rapenburg stops, just a few minutes away. If traveling by car, follow signs to Leiden Centrum and consider Parking Haagweg, which offers a free shuttle bus service to the city center, including a stop near the SieboldHuis. Alternatively, Parkeergarage Lammermarkt or Parkeergarage Morspoort are also available.
